Angebot die Kinder des siamesischen Königs am Hofe zu unterrichten.
Zusammen mit ihrem Sohn reist sie daraufhin nach Siam , um sich
dieser Herausforderung zu stellen. Ganz nach dem Motto anders Land
andere Sitten muss sich Anna mit den dortigen Gegebenheiten
zurechtfinden .

Zuerst
ist zu erwähnen, dass sich das Buch sowie der Film nur lose an die
wahre Geschichte von Anna Leonowens, die in den 1860er Jahren in Siam lebte, um die 50 Kinder der Königs Mongkut in der englischen Sprache zu unterrichten, angelehnt ist.
Vor
vielen Jahren habe ich mir den Film „Anna und den König“
angeguckt und war total begeistert. Vor kurzem kam mir der Film
wieder ins Gedächtnis, als ich in London in den Warner Brother
Studios war und ein Plakat von Draco Malfoy alias Tom Felton gesehen
hatte, der ebenfalls im oben genannten Film mitspielte. Wie dem auch
sei der Film ging mir nicht mehr aus dem Kopf und ich kaufte mir den
Roman zum Film. Das Fazit daraus ich konnte das Buch nicht mehr weg
legen. Ein packender Roman voller Romantik, politischen Konflikten und Fernweh.

Recently, the film came back to my mind when I was in the Warner Brother Studios in London and saw a poster of Draco Malfoy aka Tom Felton, who also played in the above-mentioned film. However the movie did not go out of my head and I bought the novel to the film. The conclusion I could not put away the book. A gripping novel full of romance, political conflicts and wanderlust.
